how temporarily disable firefox

On my IMAC how can I totally turn off and disable firefox and then be able later to turn it back on? This will enable me to use safari without firefox popping up. Some sites only recognize my safari browser.

I'm not sure what you exactly mean, but you can close firefox at anytime.
