why does new version of firefox use so much memory
I have 2 windows 7 4GB memory systems using the new Firefox. If I look at Task Manager, one has 4 Firefox processes running and the other has 6, resulting in considerably more memory usage by the one using 6. Does this mean that all of the old Firefox was not completely removed or something altogether different?

This should fix the issue : Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Help ? --> Troubleshooting Information Page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there. if yes, go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser. Restart Firefox
No is just the new.....
Update your Video Card Drivers is a must also.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Preventing accessibility services did not help. All I know is that the new Firefox uses a fair amount more memory than the old one did. If I could I would revert to the old version as the speed which is touted for the new one is no greater than the old's (which was just fine) either. The biggest problem for me is watching streaming video (e.g., live basketball games).
I think it has more to do with your O/S configuration then FF at this point. I have W10x64 FCU 1709 with FFx64 57.0.1 and run yutubber just fine. There's probably conflict with W7 and FF57 as with past W7 and FF56 I had no yutubber issues. Are you running 57x64 or FF57x86?
I am running FF 57.01 64-bit is all I know.
Did you uninstall the previous FF versions?
No, I did not-- just assumed it would be done as part of the upgrade-- is there any way to check and do it now if necessary?
This really is silly.
one incidence of Firefox 57.0.4
