Firefox version: 66.0

Account number for a site is not being remembered in the form data. I've cleared Cache, Cookies, and Forms from Search History from History --> Clear Recent History

"Remember search and form history" is checked under Privacy and Security.

It's not the site that is not saving it as the data is remembered in Internet Explorer as well as Firefox in a VM.

Data for other sites are remembered. It appears just to be this one site.

I'm guess that something is corrupted somewhere.

Any ideas what could be the cause and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi, can you share us the url of the page and also your operating system so that we can test.

In addition, have you check if you have an extension that blocks or needs validation (following an update)

Thank's

OS: Windows 10 (1809) Firefox: 66.0 URL: https://catalogplus.libraryweb.org/?section=myAccount

just tried it in a Windows 10 guest VM with FF and the same result, form data is not remembered. thought maybe that is was something corrupted on my host system but i was able to replicate it in the VM ("Remember search and form history" was checked).

i disabled any extensions (Webroot Filtering and Adblock Plus) on the host and that did not make a difference. in the VM there were no extensions.

also tested IE in the VM and that remembers the entered data (same as on the host).

just enter any info for Library ID and Last Name and you will see that the data is not remembered (hopefully --- so it is consistent with what i am seeing). then try with IE.

thanks!

That bad that is a registered site so if there is no one else with the registration login they will not see or test the problem.

Can you post a screenshot that shows the page code these input fields in the Inspector?

You can open the Inspector in a standalone window to be able to make this window larger.

this is weird because i had tried just entering 12345 previously for the Library ID and it would not remember it. just tried it and it does remember it. tried my real Library ID and it does not remember that. the Library ID is 14 digits. i tried the number before mine as well as the number after mine (i.e. -1 and +1) knowing that it would fail because i have no idea if it is even a valid number. even if it is a valid number i do not know the correct name so the login would fail. however, in each case it remembered the form data.

but when i enter my correct number, it is not saved both with my valid Last Name as well as a fake Last Name.

as i previously pointed out and just tested again, IE does remember my Library ID.

attached is the a screen shot of the site and Inspector as well as all of the Inspector data.

thanks!
