I just added a mail adress via IMAP which is hosted on a german Open-Xchange Mailserver. The language of the folders are in german.

I have installed a english version of thunderbird. After setting up the mail account, thunderbird created the folders "Drafts, Sent, Archive, Junk" and "Trash".

However, I want "Drafts" to be "Entwürfe" "Sent" to be "Gesendete Objekte" "Archive" to be "Archiv" (I was able to change it for some reasons) "Junk" to be "Spam" "Trash" to be "Papierkorb".

After spending hours I was not able to remove those folders. I was able to setup the actions correctly so that e.g. deleted mails are moved to "Papierkorb" etc. However, I still have the duplicated folders.

Whenever I try to unsubscribe from a folder like "Trash", it is subscribed automatically after clicking on OK - so this won't remove them.

This article seems not to work for me: http://kb.mozillazine.org/IMAP_Trash_folderVersion

Version: Thunderbird 60.6.1 (32-bit)

I just realized that the folders created by thunderbird have been synced to Open-Xchange. However, I'm also not able to delete those folders there.

have you gone to copies and folders, Server settings, Junk settings etc and actually changed the designated folders to be used for particular functions, or are you just creating new folders and trying to force something to happen.

Exchange server is weird and non complaint with anything really. I would guess open exchange would be weirder as it would have to side step Microsoft patents and copyrights.

Thunderbird maintains a localized list of folder names that are used in localized versions. In English versions you are stuck with English folder names.

When I click on e.g. "Delete" Button in the Exchange Webmail UI, the mail is moved to "Papierkorb".

So I have gone to copies and folders, Server settings, Junk settings etc and changed the designated folder, so that when I e.g. click. on the "Delete" Button in thunderbird, the mail is moved to "Papierkorb" instead of "Trash".

´´´ Thunderbird maintains a localized list of folder names that are used in localized versions. In English versions you are stuck with English folder names. ``` So Thunderbird is not able to support multiple languages at once?

Apparently not.

Hmm, I keep searching and look for a workaround. I'll post it if I find something
