[Firefox won't accept my master password] From Firefox Help I was told I could try another profile if I had one. Beside the Default Profile I have one in Root Directory and one in Local Directory. Instructions say to use one by clicking LAUNCH PROFILE IN NEW BROWSER. That command does not appear anywhere. ???? IF I could find that command, where could I find the command SET AS DEFAULT PROFILE?

(fixed profile paths)
Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, so do not get confused by seeing two folders and this is likely about the same profile.

Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files (Local Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/

When do you get the master password prompt ?

Are you using a MP because if you do not use one then Firefox might prompt for the OS password

If you use the Time Machine or other backup then try to restore the logins.json and key4.db files from this backup.
