Has anyone seeing this splash McAfee before and if not part of Firefox, how to identify which add-on is generating this splash window?

Starting with 'Safe mode' would be a good start to see if that gets rid of it. If it does, I think opening the page `about:config` and temporarily working through the add-ons, disabling each in turn, should hopefully get you the answer.
