Want to change Providers
I am tired of Windows (10 ) and Google (Chrome controlling my devices. I installed a Windows "debloat" which seems to have removed all windows functions (like "clean up"). What is the best route to go to get away from these big controlling apps? Opinions on Linux?

Most Linux distributions choose Firefox or a derivative by default, and some things to look out for in a distro is commercial support, a large community and strong philosophy. Ubuntu is arguably one of the easiest.
Microsoft provides WSL VM images for Ubuntu, openSUSE, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Kali Linux, and Debian. But if you want Linux to run on bare metal then you can still dual boot now and delete Windows later.
It is easier to install an OS on an SSD because it will run faster and it allows for more than four physical partitions. A separate partition for the home directory makes upgrades possible without having to backup personal files.
