Can't move mail profile from Thunderbird 78.14.0 to 91.1.0
I have a new computer and installed Thunderbird 91.1.0 (64-bit Windows 10). I copied my existing profile from 78.14.0 (32-bit Windows 10) to the new computer and made it the default profile, but when I open the app on the new computer, it still brings me into the account setup dialogue rather than finding my mail folders, address book, etc.. I've tried the migration instructions every which way but cannot see my folders and mail.
Maybe I am messing up and copying the wrong files. On the old computer I see a profile directory under both AppData/Local/Thunderbird/Profiles and under AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles
After I copy the old profile to the new computer, the profile file list is the same as the old computer until I open Thunderbird, which then copies dozens more files and directories to it. Maybe the two releases are incompatible in the profile design?
What is my best solution? - upgrade Thunderbird on my old computer to 91.1.0 and this will somehow upgrade my profile design, then transfer the profile to the new computer? (I am nervous this will fail and I will lose my mail) - try to find a download of 78.14.0 for the new computer? (I couldn't find one on the downloads page)
I would greatly appreciate any advice on what to do.

Try this: backup the address books and calendars on the old computer (export books to LDIF and local calendars to ics). Copy the old profile folder (ignore the AppData/Local/ files) to a flash drive or equivalent. On the new computer, Help/More Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder, close TB, delete the contents of the folder (not the folder itself), copy in the contents (not the folder itself) of the old profile folder. Restart TB and see if your old setup appears. If the address books and local calendars don't appear, import the backups.
