i keep getting 17,179,869,184 GB of cookies exactly on different sites (google, intuit.com, youtube.com, and i think facebook.com) - this happens within 24 hours of clearing the cookies.

I’ve attached an image. I cleared the cookies and cache within the last 24 hours. I have been on both youtube and intuit today but not extensively.

I have ad blocker active on both youtube and intuit.

See the following website on what to do to fix the performance issue:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-uses-too-much-memory-or-cpu-resources

And how to clear cookies and cache:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox

Hope I helped!

Kind regards,

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

It's normal for website to set a few cookies, but not millions. I think that number must include files in the disk cache, which are copies of the HTML source files, scripts, style sheets, images, etc., that Firefox uses to save bandwidth on future visits to the same site.
