Saving a folder with its subfolders
Is there a way to save a folder with its subfolders onto a hard drive or USB memory device?

Yes, but you need to provide details on your situation. I presume this is an IMAP account? Please describe your intent an I will try to assist.
Dear David, I'm not positive that I know what an IMAP account is. I have Thunderbird running on my desktop computer and it's linked to my gmail account. I send and receive my gmail through Thunderbird.
I conduct my HOA business though my gmail email address. I save these emails in an HOA folder which has several subfolders. What I want to do is to save the HOA folder with its subfolders on a backup USB drive.
If the above doesn't explain to you well enough to answer my question, please let me know what information that I need to provide.
Thank you for your time and patience!
Here goes: - first, click account settings and then synchronization&storage and click 'advanced' button to verify that the folders can be downloaded - then, click File>offline/download to ensure that all headers and messages of all folders are eligible for downloaded - now, install the addon, importexporttools NG. - now, highlight each folder separately, rightclick and select importexport option to download mbox - once finished, copy to USB
- if you need to read them later, you can revert the process as this: - highlight Local Folders - rightclick and select importexport option to import mbox. repeat for each folder
What you have is an IMAP account and can be verified by clicking account settings and checking top pane for the account which will state POP or IMAP. An IMAP account resides on the server, not the PC. That is why there are extra steps.
Dear David, thank you again for your help! To verify my account type as you described, I went to account settings - server settings - server type : Pop Mail Server was indicated.
Does this change the instructions that you provided?
No. You had mentioned the Mail folder and from that I inferred POP.
CORRECTION: that response was intended elsewhere. You do NOT need the synchronization step or the file>download step as the messages are already on your PC. My error.
Thank you David, I plan to try this later today if my schedule permits!
