First, I'm sorry to hear that your automatic updates don't go smoothly. I notice you mentioned this in December in another thread. It is ''supposed'' to be easy. ''I do select the option on the Settings page to "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" so my work isn't interrupted mid-day.'' After your recent update, did Firefox present a message that it needed to create a new profile, or suggest a Refresh/Reset/Tuneup? If your Firefox started up in a new empty profile without explanation, it's worth checking whether your old profile is available to switch to.
