What does %U means on /usr/bin/firefox &U
I used GNU/Linux, and when I look the properties of desktop and panel shortcut to firefox the command are /usr/bin/firefox %U. What does %U means? When I typed it manually on my terminal it the firefox start and goes to http://www.%u.com/. But that not occured when I click on the shortcut. What is the reason for this different behaviour? Thanks in advance.

The %U represents a URL. If you drag a URL to the shortcut then it'll open that URL in Firefox.
