FF will not save changes to the home page. Safe mode prevents this from happening. Could this be a plug-in, add-on or extension problem?

FF options will not save changes to home page unless restarted in safe mode. FF is redirected every time it is re-opened. I have attempted deleting the prefs.js and sessionstore.js with no success. My anti-virus software is up to date and all scans are clean/all items have been removed. IE is unaffected. Could this be a plug-in, add-on or extension problem?

If restarting in Safe Mode enables you to save changes to the home page, then yes, one of your extensions is the culprit.

What you have to do here is restart in Safe Mode again, click the button which says "Disable All Add-ons" and then click the button "Make changes and restart".

Then open the Add-ons manager and re-enable them one-by-one until the problem recurs. Then you'll know it was the last one you enabled which is the culprit.
