Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595
During a firefox update my computer lost power and the update was interupted. Now when I try to start Firefox Browser nothing happens for about five minutes then an error message appears which says.
Error script on page has stopped :Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595
Two buttons give a choice continue or stop script, when I press stop script Firefox Browser starts and runs Ok. I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it and the script error still appears but worse because I used the remove my settings option and have lost all my Favourites and tool bars. I used a recover tool and got a couple of .json files but not sure what to do with them. Can anyone help me from having to use IE ?
cheers

This issue can be caused by an AVG add-on (tavgp) that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thanks heaps :) That fixed the start up problem immediately !!!
Any clues how to get my favourites back, I used a deleted file recovery program and recovered the .json file which I read is where the favs are stored - but not sure what to do with the file now I have saved it to my desktop.
Thanks again for your help :)
Which files exactly did you remove that you lost the bookmarks?
The bookmarks and history are stored in an SQLite database file call places.sqlite
You can restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup.
This will replace all current bookmarks with the ones in the JSON backup.

Hi,
Teying to get rid of the script error message I un-installed Firefox Browser using Windows control panel and ticked the box to remove my personal settings as well.
Anyway if its not possible to recover the bookmarks no big deal at least the browser is working properly thanks to your suggestion.

If you ticked the box to remove personal data while uninstalling then that has removed all Firefox profile folder that store your profile data.
So your bookmarks are lost if you do not have a backup.
