Please share a little more details about the Koodak font. You managed to correct the problem with that specific font?

I don't know why no one of the people in charge try to answer us in a way or two. Then in the other topic, one of them tell me there is no problem in Firefox 6 and there would be no hesitation to upgrade to it...

I like FF the most, that's why I'm really want this problem solved.

If the problem is with not having installed fonts that work in a specific Firefox version then the only way to fix it is to find and install a font that is working for you.
If a specific font isn't working in Firefox 6 then there is probably not much that you can do yourself as it may be an older font that would need to be updated.

@ cor-el What is the difference in this version that caused some fonts to appear like that? Because we don't see any problem in other browsers... I think something's faulty. It doesn't have a good looking for all of the Persian users to download and install fonts once in a while!

At any rate, I found some fonts that do the trick with the most sites. All of the faulty web pages in this topic will be fixed but one: http://drkarimirad.com/

But I think Firefox won't change it to be like the old versions for that fonts. So all we could do is to download this font pack.

Finally a solution there. I agree with silverboy65. Mozilla has to fix this as a real matter in the next version. For now, I will chose that as the solution of this topic.

Here is an English translation of the solution:

• Type about:config in the address bar.

• Search for gfx.downloadable_fonts.sanitize and change its value from true to false.

I Believe the chosen Answer is a Client-Side Solution. I mean that's not an acceptable way for a web designer/owner who has faced this problem in his own website like me. After many tests I got that also the problem can be solved by changing your Mozilla-Firefox configurations, but this is not really a problem. Like Google-Chrome, Mozilla-Firefox joined to group of browsers which accept .woff font format cause it was made to be the official web font format. Mozilla-Firefox supports Fonts, which R licensed, to be used as .otf format. The main problem is with Persian .ttf format fonts. So I solved my problem as this:

• converted my fonts via OnlineFontConverter or FontSquirrel .
• used it inside my css like this:

@font-face { font-family:'B Nazanin'; src:url('font/oeot/BNAZANIN.eot'); src:local('☺'), url('font/woff/BNazanin.woff') format('woff'), url('font/otf/BNazanin.otf') format('otf'), url('font/neot/BNazanin.eot?') format('eot'), url('font/ttf/BNAZANIN.ttf') format('truetype');

 }

• Linux servers this is the last step but for IIS server I defined MIME-Types like this:

 .woff --> font/x-woff
 .ttf --> font/ttf
 .otf --> font/otf
 .eot --> application/vnd.ms-fontobject
 .svg --> image/svg+xml

@ P.Heyratpour I agree with you. I believe that web designers should pay attention to the great changes and try to stay up to date, as we witness in many great web sites. That's just how the web is, if you don't follow fast enough, you will be left behind.

actually its not the Firefox problem. Our fonts are not standard. there are some tables that must be present in an standard font but they are missing from ours. i've found out that online font convertor web site can add this tables to the font. i have edited 40 Persian fonts that you can download them from this address

they are working smoothly on Firefox 6 (both TTF and WOFF format)  ;)

توصیه می کنم که فایرفاکس خود را به آخرین نسخه آپدیت کنید در هر صورت مشکل جدا جدا نشان داده شدن فونت های فارسی مربوط به غیر استاندارد بودن فونت های استفاده شده است اگر درست یادم باشه کافیه در نوار آدرس عبارت 1 رو تایپ کنید و سپس به دنبال عبارت 2 بگردید و مقدار آن را به نادرست (فالس) تغییر دهید
