Running latest version of Mozilla. After updating Flash to latest version I can't resize the browser window when a flex application is in the current tab.

I can't resize the browser window when a Flex application is in the current tab. It's almost like Flash is detecting a size change and setting the browser window size back to what it used to be as a result. I can't make the window longer, shorter, taller or smaller. I also can't drag the browser bar from maximized to windowed mode.

Two things: can you link to some public page or application that has this problem, and can you check if going to Firefox -> Preferences -> Content, clicking the "Advanced" button to the right of "Enable Javascript" and disabling "Move or resize popup windows" works around it? This is a bit of a long shot, as I'm not at all sure if Flash is going through javascript to do this. (And make sure to undo those changes or at least remember you made them, obviously, as you may well want most javascript to have this ability).

Disabling "Move or resize popup windows" didn't work.

I'm a developer with Pervasive Software. You could register and download the free trial of our data integrator product to reproduce the issue, but you may find that to be a hassle.

The flex application we build is not something we host publicly online. Although I have cut away most of our application and gotten a page that will reproduce the issue that is a single MB in size. (There is an SWF involved.) Is there a way to get that to you?

Also Internet Explorer and Chrome don't have this problem.

Try:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I'm having the same problem with my flex application. I cannot resize the browser.

I tried a few things with no luck.

Please let us know if u find the solution for this.

Another problem i found that happens only in mozilla and new flash player is that if you open a new tab from a flash application using navigateToURL and then u go back to the flex app tab there is a huge refresh issue. Can't see the flex app and you have to mouse over the whole page to actually refresh.

I have the same problem with a flex application on firefox version 13.0.1 with flashplayer 11.3.300. Cannot resize the browser window, too. Though minimize/maximize buttons are ok. With another tab open without flash content, the whole firefox window is resizable.

When switching back to a 10.0 flex version everything works fine.

Any clues?

I'm having the same issue. I can't re-size a flash window in the latest Firefox version.

I play World Golf Tour (WGT) and it sucks not being able to re-size the window. Full window works.

Tried all of the fixes Ive read so far with no luck. Hmmm...

Uninstalled flash (was ver. 11.3) and reverted to 11.2 (download from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_versions) ...scroll down a bit. All's well again.

Hello everyone,

This is a bug introduced by the last update of Firefox (version 13) and Flash (version 11.3.300.257).

The bug is confirmed by Mozilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=765788 as well as Adobe: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3217427

We can only hope that they will be more responsive than usual on this particular bug as it seems to affect *a lot* of Windows users who recently updated Firefox and Flash.

Hi It happens to all pages where a Flash element has the size of 100% width / 100% height of the window or frame. Flash elements with fixed pixel size do not cause a problem. I think it's not a Javascript problem, because it also blocks the window resize if you just call a swf file with no html around.

For anyone interested, I can confirm this behaviour doesn't happen in OSX Lion or Windows XP with the Flash 11.3 / Firefox 13 combination.
