I can see the Firefox's e-mail link feature, but I no longer can click on it and have anything happen. Some how it got disables during a Firefox update. How do I get it back. I have windows 7 Ultimate if that helps.

when......."click on e-mail link and it would connect to my g-mail giving me a compose new mail window to send the link to...." it is the mailto fuction in firefox. Probably this fuction is not correctly any more as it is before.

see in the next link how to set it up again : Setting Firefox's mail client

your e-mail will continue to function as before, will not be affected.

No, I mean if I am on a webpage that I want to send a link to my friend, I used to go the the far left under FIREFOX and click on e-mail link and it would connect to my g-mail giving me a compose new mail window to send the link to. Now that e-mail link no longer works. Help-I used it alot. Thanks Lou

Appreciate your help but, you are talking to an old dummy lady. How do I change the program used to open email links? My e-mail works perfectly, just not this feature of Firefox. Not understanding what I am to do. Sorry

You can also look at the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page.
If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value.

Thanks for all your help. Resetting Firefox's mail client back to my gmail account was the solution. Apparently the latest upgrade changed my settings. Y'all are great. Thanks again.
