server not found keeps popping up when i try to load a page.. Internet Explorer seems to be working witn no problem, only firefox, I already reset the setting.

Server not found keeps popping up when i try to load the page. Internet Explorer works no issues so internet connection is good as other apps work. I ahve already reset the settings on firefox through the menu, help and troubleshooter.

Are you using a bookmark or are you typing the URL in the location/address bar?


Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
