Slow typing on my new MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013 running OS 10.9.5 Mavericks and Thunderbird 31.4.0. How to fix? The new mac has a fast solid-state drive. The typing is slow!

I have an older MacBook Pro Mid 2012 with conventional hard drive running same OS and same Thunderbird version 31.4.0 and there is no slow typing whatsoever.

Isn't it strange Thunderbird would be so sluggish on my much faster mac? Am I alone having this problem? Thanks!

Does it also occur in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=safe-mode

How about with the next version, beta, from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all-beta.html ?
