How can restore my bookmarks from my previous version, as it synced with a crashed and newly installed computer with the same name but empty bookmarks.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync (temporarily) while performing maintenance/repair efforts to the places.sqlite database.
