I can no longer print (email, web pages) without being asked to name the document, and when I do, it contains an error and can't be read.

This is a recent problem. When I try to print in Firefox, I am asked to name the document, and it gives an extension of qps or some such, whatever that is. When I try to retrieve the document, it cannot be read as there is an error in it. I end up using Internet Explorer when I need to print. I have tried printing from "Ctrl P" and from the pull down menu. Same result.

Make sure your physical printer is selected in Printer > Name.

Sounds like you have the Microsoft XPS Document Writer selected rather than your printer.

Also, uncheck the Print to file box if that is checked in the Print dialog. (See screen shot attached.)
