HOW TO STOP FIREFOX FROM CHECKING TO SEE IF DEFAULT?
After using FF since it was released I am now being forced to consider leaving & I already installed Chrome (Which is much faster) Every time there is an update there is a problem. Two updates this week. So I can no longer simply delete a bookmark as the delete button is greyed out and now I see that it has ff set to check to see if it's the default every time it starts and FF REFUSES to allow the user to change this. It is now VERY slow at start up. Did Microsoft start a trend that FF picked up because they are sneaky & remove user control too. If there isn't a solution to this soon I will be gone. FF is incredibly SLOW at start up now and NO it's not add ons etc because I had to spend time trouble shooting. I feel it's bloat in FF and the check default b.s! I don't mind change if it's for the better but FF is going places I refuse to go. Now, is there a way to get my USER control back and STOP it from checking default at start up or should I leave? ff for good? I'm tired of waiting for FF to launch I think it launched faster back in the dial up days. As you can see I am pretty angry.

If you go to about:preferences in Firefox, you should see a check mark option that says "Always check if Firefox is your default browser". Uncheck it if its checked and restart Firefox. Upon restart, Firefox should not ask you anymore.
