Remove annying notifications
How do I remove the annoying notifications that Firefox seems to be using all the freckin' time!? Everytime some page reloads and isn't in focus I get a notification. Why have they turned this on by default?! If you try browsing with multiple windows on multiple screens all you do is klick on notifications all the time? I'm not talking about notifications for websites that I have given permission to. Firefox is throwing notifications for pretty much everything it does at me.
How do I turn this damn thing off?! If it can't be done then I'm going back to Chrome!

I managed to solve it. It turned out it was an old addon that I didn't really use anymore that made this. When I did a reset of Firefox it got loaded again when I logged into sync.
I don't know the name of it now but after I removed all addons and then only added the ones I use everything started to work just fine.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.1 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

I will try but I highly doubt that is going to help because first of all I have the same issue on multiple computers on different operationg systems. On one computer I have Windows 10 and on the other one I run Linux. And it's the same issue. The issue is that Mozilla has made Firefox push notifications for everytime something happens in a tab out of focus. How do I turn that off?!

How can I do what you have suggested if I have no admin rights on Windows 10?

Since you are showing running version 57 this Installer is for 57..0.1 and has fixes for some issues. As well dumping the old Files and Folders makes sure that it is just 57.0.1 in there only. So no conflicts of files.
This issue has been resolved many times like this.
If you prefer you can do a Refresh and set everything to default as that is the other way of fixing it. Please : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles then https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

The refresh and reset Firefox didn't work. And remove and make profile didn't work either. Running firefox.exe with the -P flag did nothing in Win 10.
Nothing of what you suggested works.
This is what I have done:
- Uninstalled Firefox using the uninstaller - Removed all folders that had anything to do with Mozilla or Firefox in my user folder "C:Users\'myname'\AppData" - Ran Windows Disc Cleanup - Rebooted my system - Installed the newest Firefox version (using the link you posted)
And it didn't help!
Is there anything else I can do?

See if this turns up in your please, am told it works but I do not have that key so maybe wrong.
Please Copy/Paste about:config into the Address Bar then Enter.
Copy/Paste dom.notifications.enabled into the Search at the top if it come up double click it and turn it to false.
Did you try a new Profile ? Please give that a shot : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

I had no such entry. I have now added it and set it to 'false'. Sadly it didn't help. I still get those annoying notifications. In some tabs I get a notifications even though I'm actually using the tab and have set the permissions for that page not to allow notifications!
Gmail for example does this. And not when I receive a new e-mail. I'm talking about getting a notification that the page has been loaded. And I'm browsing in it!! Extremely annoying!!

This doesn't work in Windows 10. Running "firefox.exe -P" does nothing. It just starts Firefox. The profile window does not appear.

Look at this in Gmail. The tab is in focus and I have no new e-mails that could be the cause of the notification and STILL I get that annoying notificiation!
And it won't go away until I click on it! If I have multiple tabs doing this they just start iterating between them until I click on all of them. Why would anyone make this a thing in their program?! I'm a programmer my self and I can't imagine I would torture my users like this!

Some websites show their own graphical panel trying to get you to accept their notifications, before triggering Firefox's permission request mechanism. Most of the time sites will remember your selection using a cookie - if you delete cookies regularly (or block them), you'll see the question again and again.
Unfortunately there's no built-in setting to suppress these pre-check overlays. You could try to hide them using an add-on such as uBlock Origin :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
You will of course already have checked this, but just to make sure :
In Options => Privacy and Security => under 'Permissions' :
Is 'Do not disturb me' checked ?

Well done, you !
Now, there's one more thing you need to do : remove the 'Chosen Solution' mark from my post and mark your own (last) post as such instead !
You can do so by clicking the 'Undo' button to the right of that post.
