Is there an update for the Follow-Up add-in? Or a new add-in that allows for an email to be marked as done?

We need a feature that allows for an email to be marked as "done". We can flag an email but once it's un-flagged it just goes back to looking as a read message. We used Outlook in the past, that once an email was un-flagged it left a check-mark, is there any type of similar add-in for thunderbird?
