Recently I noticed that on several websites (including Wordpress, Twitter and Facebook), where I can upload pictures and that upload is handled by Javascript, Firefox hangs. I can open new tabs but it will never send requests, clicking on links in other tabs will do nothing, the upload will never finish and the preview of the uploaded picture will never appear. I have to close Firefox, wait a few seconds and open it again. I waited several minutes using Chrome in the meantime to continue browsing but Firefox never finishes.

This appears randomly but frequently, I don't know how to reproduce it. Performance check shows some pollings in Javascribt but I am not experienced enough to debug this.

This behaviour doesn't appear on the same websites with the same pictures using Chrome.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.
