Having trouble getting emails into Thunderbird

I found a question and answer about how to export/import emails from one computer to another. I followed the directions but nothing has imported. I have a new Windows 10 Home system. I installed Thunderbird on my old computer and it imported everything from Outlook Express into Thunderbird perfectly. But I can't seem to get the new Thunderbird files from my old computer to the new one. This is one of the links I used. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer
