the most common way to preconfigure some firefox settings before firefox was through autoconfig - here are the details on how to use it: Customize Firefox using AutoConfig it basically consists of placing some files with your configuration into the firefox installation folder - i don't have any experience if this can be deployed through a group policy though.

hi, the option to control firefox through gpo policies was introduced in version 60, so this won't be supported in outdated versions like 49 at all...
