I'M trying to configure Thunderbird in English.

Do I need to uninstall and re-install the english version of can I just configure

Uninstall Thunderbird. Use the following link: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/

Scroll down until you see English British on left side. Select the download for your OS. The one nearest the language name is Windows 32bit version 68.1.1 This version will work perfectly ok on Windows OS 32bit and 64bit.
