I have changed my Google password and need to know how to update Thunderbird as the old Google password was not saved in password manager.
Hello, I was abroad yesterday working on a different machine and had to change my Google password to get access to emails via Gmail (as I couldn't recall the password). Now I understand I need to update Thunderbird with the new Google password so that I can get back to accessing my emails via my preferred program. But the old Google password - which I couldn't recall yesterday hence needing to change it - is not saved in password manager. In fact password manager only list passwords for all my family's email addresses other than the one I use 95% of the time! Please advise what i need to do to regain t6he ability to use Thunderbird. Thank you. Nick Chown

Thank you very much for your prompt response to my query. I was just about to post that I had figured out my mistake myself. I'm not very good with IT matters but half an hour of working on it did the trick!
Thanks again.

If you changed the gmail password, and the old one was never stored in Options, you should be able to access the account in TB - if - you update TB to 60.9.1 or 68.1.2, which fixes an issue with google OAuth2 authentication, which is the default authentication now for gmail IMAP accounts. With OAuth2 authentication, a browser window will appear when you connect to the account, you enter your new gmail password, and google will add a token to the TB password manager in Options. Prior to the latest update, this process would fail.
