This was fixed in TB 68.1.2. The latest is 68.2.2, which you can download here, or wait until autoupdate from 60 is enabled.

Addendum: Thunderbird automatically marks the mail as read, even if I do not directly click on it, just the folder.

This was fixed in TB 68.1.2. The latest is 68.2.2, which you can download here, or wait until autoupdate from 60 is enabled.
