As above, running 3.6.12 (latest normally available version), latest Flash plug-in etc and have uninstalled and re-installed all components, at least twice. Flash crashes, causing the need for the plug-in container process to be manually stopped. Sometimes it will crash again immediately again a number of times.

This problem does not occur with IE or Google Chrome.

Even a site such a http://www.dell.co.uk/ fails

Flash just stalls and firefox hangs, need to kill it from task manager.

firefox 3.6.12 shockwave flash 10.1.85.3 Windows XP sp3

I have had this problem for months now. Have to uninstall firefox 3.6.12, install firefox 3.6.10 and turn off auto-update (glad i kept the 3.6.10 install file).

Have always used firefox but this bug is making me think of leaving it.

Update to previous post

Don't think this is a firefox problem.

Can't get 3.6.10 to work anymore either. Tried flash 10.1.85.3 and 10.1.85.6 both hang, not with the crash screen just a general hangup requiring firefox to be killed. tried every flash install method i can. Youtube even complained about flash 10.1.85.3.

Disabled and uninstalled everything i could in firefox but didn't help.

Maybe if i can find an earlier flash version it may work. Adobe must be doing something strange, maybe i'll wireshark it (ever hopeful that i can get it working - but my family are only interested in things working not getting them working).

So no longer have flash for firefox, so guess i won't be using firefox anymore, pity but bye.

Fixed

Firewall problem. Switching off firewall let flash work, don't know why. Complete uninstall of firewall then re-install seems to have fixed it. guess there was a rule somewhere in the firewall that was stopping flash from working.

Did get the flash crashed problem a couple of times, but generally when initial open of firefox with lots of tabs, so timeout was hit - i had reduced it to 15 seconds.

I found that the new Firefox 4 currently in beta doesn't have this problem.

FIXED... I can't remember when or why my "Flash Crash" started, but looking at the settings (Right-Click, Settings...) I noticed that the "Enable hardware acceleration" was checked. After clearing the check-box (disabling hardware acceleration) my problem was resolved. If you are experiencing a crash - check this option in the crashed Flash plugin placeholder.
