Ff 3.6.14 does not save the first web page in history

When I start Firefox it brings up my default home page. When I go to another URL everything works fine except that my home page is not the first page in the history so the back arrow will not go there. The second URL is then the start of the history. After that, everything works fine.

Firefox recently upgraded itself to 3.6.14 and that's when this started.

This happens on Win7. On my Vista laptop it works normally.
