Firefox will not save all my newly added bookmarks. I'm going back to IE

After upgrading to firefox 4, not all booksmarks that I add are saved permanently in my favorites. After restarting firefox, some of the new ones are still there, others aren't. Importing during the upgrade worked fine. The problem is just with newly added bookmarks. Some are missing when I restart firefox.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
