Since upgrading to Version 4 I have lost printing capability (spooler problem) and Norton Toolbar

I immediately lost my Norton Toolbar on upgrading. When I tried to print a web page, printing failed with a message "Spooler Subsystem App problem" then printing failed. I can however print web pages normally from IE8 and Google Chrome.

Can you try the steps documented in here: Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close

As regards the Norton Toolbar, Norton plans to release an update in May. See Norton compatibility with IE9 and FF4
