I used to be able to forward emails with photos, documents, etc. embedded in the email, just as it was sent to me. I am able to see it/them when it is sent to me, but when I forward it on to others the only thing that shows up in the email they receive is a blank box with a red "x" in it-recipient cannot see what's embedded in that box.

Which mail program or which webmail site are you using? E.g., Thunderbird, GMail, etc.

Does the message look normal while you are composing it, but the images don't actually go?

I use G-mail, and yes, that is exactly what happens...it looks normal to me, I have no problem seeing it, but the receiver only sees the blank box with a little red "x" in it. Most often I do not change the original email that was sent to me; I just forward it on to others.

Sorry for the delay in following up.

I only use Gmail occasionally, so am not too familiar with potential issues in forwarding.

One thought: If you use any site-specific script blocking such as NoScript or K-9, make sure that you aren't blocking anything that could be associated with Gmail.

Thanks for your reply...it is definitely a Gmail problem, being experienced by many others. I may just switch if it's not resolved soon...thanks again!
