Possibly it is just the revised look of Firefox, with

  • the new Firefox Button
    Press the keyboard the Alt key if you wish to temporarily display the menubar toolbar, or make the change from orange firefox button -> Options -> Menubar
  • the tabs on top option can also be changes in the options menu
  • see why are tabs on top?
