When I get into my email, the back and forward no longer works.
When checking my mail, I will click on a site, then click again to view something within; the arrows (back/forward) fade and no longer function, thus not able to use.

Probably the "Babylon" toolbar if Thunderbird is involved. Firefox does not do email. though.
Clear your cache -- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Clear now (simple to do, but not directed at any specific problem)
