Cursor does not blink in Google home page

Windows XP....Firefox 8....Google.ca is my homepage.The cursor in the search feild will not blink......Just a steady bar....If I type something in search feild ;it will search properly.I have the same homepage in Internet Exlorer and in Chrome and they both blink in the search feilds.

It's the programing on that opening page, happens here as well with FF 8. As soon as you start typing, the page changes to a regular Google search page. Annoying but workable. Happens in safe_mode here as well.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you for responding to my question.........This problem still persist......Seems like the problem only occurs on the Firefox Google.ca homepage.If I go to yahoo homepage , cursor will blink in the search box.I use Google.ca homepage in other browsers and the cursor will blink normally . Thanks...................Gilles
