can only open 1 tab at a time.and can't close them from address bar

Also when I click on the x of the site I am on nothing happens.I have to close everything down to and type in the address again instead of clcking on the tab inthe address bar.because it does not appear up there.

hello, please start firefox in safemode once & see if the problem is occurring there too. if not please disable all extensions in tools > addons > extensions, restart the browser & re-enable your extensions one by one (a restart might be necessary after each step) until you find out which one was causing the issue - if you do, please report back, so that other user with the same issue might find a quick solution. thank you!
