Try to restore the default settings, and most probably it will work. Also for more efficient search use this add-on!

Hey there, I think you've disabled your Navigation Bar by accident.

View -> Toolbars -> Navigation Toolbar

If you have your navigation bar, but the search bar is gone, try this:

View -> Toolbars -> Customize.. -> Restore Default Set.
