FF was crashing, reinstalled, same prob, did the reset,won't open, trying to connect to update for hours. What's wrong?

FF kept crashing so about a week ago I reinstalled. Still kept crashing so in the troubleshooting info I read about "reset". Did that this AM and now have a window entitled Software Update which has been up for several hours. It has a blue and white barber design and says connecting to the update server... What is wrong?

Is there a blocking firewall ? Maybe the communication ports are shut. Reboot your computer and see if it works

The reboot must have fixed it as everything is working fine now. Thank you very much sudheesh...I appreciate your help.
