I uploaded my favicon.ico to the root directory, it shows in Chrome, but not in firefox. I've cleared the cache, still not appearing, yet when I type mydomain.com/favicon.ico it appears in firefox.

What is the file size of the favicon file and what are the dimensions of the favicon?

the size is 16x16 . does firefox require a larger image?

The problem is usually that the file size is too large or there are multiple images (layers) in the file or it is an unsupported format.
I can't tell more about without inspecting the favicon.
