This is for firefox mobile android.

I've tried -everything-, from cleaning the cache, uninstalling firefox and re-installing, to manually trying to plug in string values to about:config. This (insert several frustrated words here) tab, CONSTANTLY opens up whenever I start a new instance of firefox, and there is -no- clear way to remove it. I've tried about:config and looking through the strings for the site that is triggered, but it is not as developed as the pc version that I use. Please help.

Hi Kyvou

Some details are missing that would be helpful for us to help you :

  1. Which device are you using (phone or tablet? make and model) ?
  2. What version of Android (Android 4.4 Kitkat, Icecream sandwich, jellybean,e tc)
  3. What Firefox for Android add-ons are you using (if any)?
  4. What is the url of the tab? Could you post a screenshot of it opening please?

Hi Kyvou:

Sorry about the late reply.

Anyhow I assume mean since you didn't explicitly say that you are running Android 2.3.6.

I did the following:

1. In Firefox for Android 31 on an Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread device (Samsung Duo S) nightly (but it should be the same for Firefox for 29 Beta and Firefox 28 and Firefox 27)

2. Set Firefox to automatically open the last open tabs: Hardware Menu Button -> Settings -> Customize -> check Tabs "Always restore"

3. Surfed to http://t.co/EugNK0pYzz

4. Quit Firefox using the Hardware menu button->Quit

5. Restarted firefox

6. Firefox correctly opened http://t.co/EugNK0pYzz

7. Closed the tab with http://t.co/EugNK0pYzz by: tapping on the tab counter on the top right and then tapping "X"

8. Quit Firefox using the Hardware menu button

9. Restarted Firefox

10. Firefox correctly did NOT open http://t.co/EugNK0pYzz

Is that what you tried?

If the problem still persists, my only suggestion would to try Firefox 28 and firefox 29 beta both of which you can get from the Google Play Store
