When down or uploading the folders list and favorites on the left are blank in windows 7 and also if you goto organise folder and search options are greyed out so i cannot choose where to save file or for example select a photo to upload to facebook as the box is completely empty, have tried to uninstall and reinstall firefox and made no difference any ideas

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

hi tried that added .old on the extension when i restarted firefox it created a new one but same issue
