Is there a video casting plugin for FF Desktop? Youtube for Roku used to pair device, but now only works with casting device like android phone
I'm not sure, but this question -
Firefox beta when /will the casting feature ( love it on mobile) be added to the desktop?
looks like it might work, but the patch link was for FF 33 and I'm on FF 36 running on mint 17, so I didn't install it. If the listed patch is what I need, or there is another way to do this, please let me know.
Basically, what I'm trying to do is use youtube on FF as a search engine for youtube on Roku. It worked fine until a couple of days ago (2/26/2015) when youtube on Roku upgraded so that the 'Pair device' option never comes up on the Roku. It works great with my android phone, but I would prefer to be able to use my laptop/desktop.
Thanks in advance. Jim PS - I'm upgrading my laptop from FF 35 to 36 as I write this, but my desktop is on 36 and has the same issue.

This extension looks like it is for Firefox Desktop versions. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/remoku/ I can't use it as I don't have a Roku device.
Hi . Remoku works as a remote control for my roku. It is pretty neat, but it doesn't add casting functionality that I need. Thanks.
for mp4 videos firefox 36 desktop should have webcasting built-in if you right-click a video & go to 'Send Video To Device'...
Thanks Philipp - that might work for MP4s, but youtube plays in Adobe Flash on My PC - Mint 17 Cinnamon. FF 36. Right click on the video doesn't give casting option. I'm still looking Jim
