Cannot use my address bar. Press enter, nothing happens. Click drop down menu and it will not go to address
Address bar is not functioning. Will not open search or open website, even when I click addresses in the drop down menu. I have tried starting in safe mode and I have tried refreshing Firefox. I even tried reinstalling Firefox. Any suggestions?

I did a system restore, after noticing some other problems with my computer. Now it seems to be working properly. I am thinking the refreshing Firefox may not have worked until I did the restore, because it tried to open up my previous session, even after rebooting. When I started after the system restore, it no longer had my bookmarks or saved passwords. So I am not quite sure what I did that fixed it, but it seems to be working now. Thanks for all of the help

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Try to create a new profile to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Good to know.
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
Bookmark / History Backups
Type about:support<Enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Enter the bookmarkbackups folder. This is where Firefox makes backups of your bookmarks. Look for the jsonlz4 file you want to restore (check the time / date / size). Right click on that file and select Copy. Now go back to the profile folder where you started. Rename the file places.sqlite by adding .old to it. Now right click in the folder and select Paste. The file you just pasted here, rename it to places.sqlite. After you are done, restart Firefox.
Thank you! That was very helpful!
