I am about to cancel my landline and my internet service is tied to the landline. In short it is all going away. I am going to use my phone as a hotspot. I am looking for an email service (MTA?) like google or yahoo to create a new email address for contacts. Is there anything out there that works especially well with Firefox? I am looking for something easy to set up. I am not a novice, but not an expert either.

You posted a question about Firefox in the Thunderbird support forum. Firefox is a browser and doesn't handle your emails. You can use it to access your mails through webmail though.

If your question is about Thunderbird, typically a new account is set up using the new account wizard, and Thunderbird automatically detects the correct server settings. I don't think there is anything out there that 'works especially well' with Thunderbird. So it's really up to you to choose an email provider which fits your needs.
