I can't access anything with firefox. Every page is blue text down left side of page. Can't use the refresh firefox because Mozilla home page is also broken.
The 'refresh firefox' can only be used while in firefox browser. But even the mozilla home page is messed up - how can I refresh it? I would remove and reload it entirely, but I don't want to lose my favorites.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller

- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Note, you can also refresh Firefox from here. But do that after.
If you have Avast then try to disable HTTPS scanning in Avast Web Shield.
