hi Philb138, please go into the programs section of your system control panel and uninstal nvidia forceware network access manager in case you have that present.

Thanks its working, now all my bookmarks have disappeared
thanks for reporting back. where have they disappeared from & have you tried to reset firefox in the process of troubleshooting this issue before? (this should be unrelated to uninstalling a third-party tool)
All my bookmarks have disappeared from my drop-down menu, and no to your 2nd query, never had the problem before
in this case please press ctrl+shift+b and in the window that opens go to import & backup. under the restore option choose a prior date...
Its only going back to today, none of my previous bookmarks are there
do you have a folder labeled "old firefox data" on your desktop?
Yes I have
ok, so it looks like firefox has been reset somehow (not sure how that could happen).
this folder on your desktop contains your old profile before the reset. while firefox is closed, you could copy the content of that folder and replace what's in your current profile, which is normally located under C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<random string>. or you could just transfer some data from the old profile to the new one selectively - for example places.sqlite contains your bookmarks and history. more information about this is available at Recover important data from an old profile
Sorry for the delay, had to go out, Thanks got them all back through the desktop folder, Thank you very much for your help
