Emails not displaying in inbox
This was a new installation in November. It has never worked, but I just tried to revisit it yesterday when I was onsite.
The computer is far away right now, so I cannot give the exact version of Thunderbird, but it was downloaded in mid-November, 2016 so it should at least work even if it needs some updates. The computer is a laptop running Windows 8.1 The email account is IMAP and there are many other accounts using this server successfully. The email account is fully functional using the ISP's webmail interface, emails come and go regularly and successfully.
Emails seem to receive: I send a test email. I see the account name turn blue and hear the computer chime as it does when a message is received. I look at the email account in webmail and the message is in the inbox along with many others, so it was at least received by the server and is available for pickup by an email client. But the inbox is empty in this Thunderbird installation. They are not in trash or junk or any other IMAP'd folder.
I have done many Thunderbird installations, but I would never claim to be an expert. I've looked all over but cannot find any setting or anything that might explain this. The inbox columns - Subject, From, Date, etc. - are there, but nothing shows beneath them. Hopefully someone knows the little bit of magic that I am missing here to make this work.
Thanks, --Brian

Thanks. I took a look at that link. That gives me a few things to check out when I next have access to the computer - maybe even as soon as tomorrow (5/9/16).
